Solstice, Sarum and the Stones Stonehenge, summer solstice and the Salisbury Plains what a combination this 110 mile tour takes you to stately homes, one of the finest cathedrals in the country and of course Stonehenge. On the 21st June the longest day of the year you can see the Druids, New Age Travellers and just about everybody else celebrating the sunrise on the first day of summer.
For those of you who want to test your driving skills a little further then we recommend a figure of eight route that takes you through the middle of Salisbury Plain where if you are lucky you may even run across the Top Gear team testing out some new cars. See Old Sarum where William the Conqueror paid off his armies and is the original site of Salisbury. Admire the feat of engineering that is Caen Hill Locks all 29 of them. Watch out for mysterious crop circles along the way.
